Fort Food Challenge Shortly before Christmas our associates participated in the 11th Annual Fort Food Challenge. We were challenged to increase our giving from last year to 7lbs per associate and we exceeded our goal! We collected 460lbs of food for the Food Bank.
United Way Campaign Gallagher Uniform kicked off the United Way campaign this year with a luncheon tailgate party. The kick off was a huge success. Gallagher Uniform won an award from the United Way for the highest percentage of employee participation. To raise some extra money for the United Way the associates voted using money jars for the owner best suited to wear a rival U of M sweatshirt. John Gallagher, a MSU alumni, was the lucky winner.
EVENTS
Closest to the Pin–Grab your clubs and head to the links. On a sunny summer day that is exactly what the Gallagher Uniform associates did. During the lunch breaks we set up a flag in the front lawn and held a closest to the pin contest. We had beginners, social and experienced golfers some even claimed to be PGA bound golfers. The winning shot landed 4 inches from the pin.
March Madness– In the spirit of the NCAA basketball tournament Gallagher Uniform hosted the 3rd annual Gallagher March Madness tournament. Professional Health and Wellness, a local wellness firm, brought in a two-player basketball shoot out game and bravely refereed the tournament. The shoot out began with 32 players and we worked our way down to the final game. Everyone had a great time shooting hoops and cheering on their co-workers.
Soup-er Bowl Challenge– In early February, Gallagher Uniform had a Soup-er Bowl Challenge to honor the Super Bowl and to thaw out from the biter Michigan cold. Pat Gallagher and Ryan Tolber, a Seafood specialist from a local Felpausch store, judged the challenge. After sampling eight different soups they selected Kathy’s Chicken Tortellini as the winner and Karina’s Beef Vegetable Stew as the runner up. Yum. Yum.
Children’s Holiday Celebration– On Saturday December 13th Gallagher Uniform had its annual Children’s Holiday party for all of the associates’ kids. The children enjoyed decorating holiday cookies and the famous reindeer cart rides. But the highlight was a visit from Santa with gifts for all of the boys and girls.
Associate Holiday Party– The associate holiday party was held at the Battle Creek Inn. This year, following dinner we tried something a bit new and had a Gong Show or should we call it a No Talent show. It was a close call between Sony & Cher and the Stockroom King but in the end the Stockroom King won. Everyone had a great time and lots of laughs.
