Gallagher Uniform is Hygienically Clean Certified

If you know Gallagher, you know we love our customers and we are constantly engaging in practices that continue to set us apart from the competition. One of our biggest priorities is cleanliness. As a launderer and uniform provider, we take pride in making sure that our processes meet very specific standards for our industry and our customers.

That is why in 2019 we embarked on a one-year journey to become Hygienically Clean Certified by TRSA. Our facility underwent multiple inspections, garment testing, and facility upgrades to ensure we followed best management practices when it came to producing hygienically clean textiles.

Thanks to our entire team at Gallagher Uniform we are excited to officially announce as of October 2020 Gallagher Uniform is now listed as a hygienically clean certified food safety laundry!

What does this certification mean?

Our Hygienically Clean certification, awarded by TRSA, reflects our commitment to best management practices in laundering as verified by inspection and our capability to produce hygienically clean textiles as quantified by ongoing microbial testing.

An independent, third-party inspection confirmed essential evidence that:

• Our employees are properly trained and protected
• Our leadership team understands legal requirements
• We are OSHA-compliant
• Our physical plant operates effectively

In simpler terms: our laundry facility is confirmed to produce uniforms FREE of harmful bacteria that could be detrimental to our food processing / manufacturing customers.

How is this certification achieved?

The Hygienically Clean Certification is awarded to linen or uniform companies that are committed to cleanliness through laundry plant inspection, third-party microbial testing and requires a facility going through an involved process to prove that they meet hygienically clean standards.

Our certification process included:

• A comprehensive facility inspection
• Three unique rounds of microbial testing to prove that our laundered items show diminished presence of yeast, mold, and harmful bacteria
• Regular quarterly and semi-annual testing to maintain the certification

Test results: we passed with flying colors!

A variety of tests are conducted to ensure we are meeting hygienically clean standards. Our first round of tests included RODAC Plate testing, which counts our microbial counts, and yeast and mold counts. A passing test notes a <50 ___.

Test #1 –3.54 with no yeast or mold detected on a lab coat sample.

Test #2 –0.88 with no yeast or mold detected on a towel sample. 3.10 with no yeast or mold detected on a lab coat sample.

Test #3, 4, 5 – Included Bile tolerant bacteria detection of: E-Coli, Salmonella, Staph, Clostridium, and Candida. A lab coat sample was tested and came back free of all bacteria listed above.

In simpler terms: our garments are as clean, and virus free as they can get!

HACCP Certified

Our Hygienically Clean Certification also means we are Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) compliant.

HACCP practices were examined, including our plant’s techniques for:

• Conducting hazard analysis
• Determining CCPs, monitoring their control, correcting them if not under control
• Validating and verifying HACCP system effectiveness
• Documenting and record-keeping to show ongoing conformance

Inspections also evaluate practices relevant to handling and processing textile products used in food manufacturing/processing establishments for adherence to U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) directives.
