On October 27, 2000, 10 days before being elected President of The United States, George W. Bush visited Gallagher as one of his last campaign destinations.

The four Gallagher brothers lead President Bush on a tour of the facility and explained how the uniforms are prepared and processed. While on the tour President Bush was very warm and personable as he stopped to shake hands and speak with the Gallagher associates. Many of the associates were even able to pose for photos with President Bush. It was an exciting day for everyone.

President Bush was accompanied by numerous other Michigan political figures, such as Governor John Engler, Senator John Schwarz, Secretary of State Candice Miller, and State Representative Charles Perricone.
