Celebrating the Team, On and Off the Clock: Culture at Gallagher
At Gallagher Uniform, culture is more than a set of values on paper. It’s what has guided us through five generations of family leadership and over 130 years of serving businesses across West Michigan and Northern Indiana. From the plant floor to family events outside of work, our culture comes alive in the way we support one another and invest in our people.
HR Manager Jennifer Rosa describes it best: “Gallagher leadership is hands-on and committed to the daily work that happens. They are visible and engaged with associates, which makes this a true family-friendly environment where people feel supported and connected.”
That environment shows up in many ways, from competitive fun to community outings and everything in between.
The Gallagher Games: Friendly Competition, Big Connections
This summer, we held the Gallagher Games, a five-week, Olympic-style series of events that got our team moving and laughing together. Associates went head-to-head in everything from a basketball shoot-out and hula hoop contests to walking challenges, golf swings, cornhole, and even a rock-paper-scissors tournament.
Every participation point counted, but the real win was the energy and camaraderie that carried through the workplace. It was proof that even the simplest activities can strengthen bonds, boost morale, and remind us that we’re more than coworkers — we’re a team.
A Family Day at Binder Park Zoo
We also gathered at Binder Park Zoo for our summer picnic, where associates and their families enjoyed a day of relaxation, connection, and a few giraffe feedings. Away from uniforms and delivery schedules, families got to see the people behind Gallagher come together in a different light.
Moments like these matter. They reinforce that culture is not limited to the workplace but extends to the families who support our associates every day.
Year-Round Reasons to Celebrate
Culture at Gallagher doesn’t pause after summer. We keep it going with a full calendar of events that bring fun and connection throughout the year:
- Rivalry Day celebrating MSU vs. U of M
- Our annual Halloween costume contest
- The Battle Creek Christmas Parade and annual holiday party
- Turkey and ham handouts for families
- Chili cookoffs, bowling nights, and hockey games
- St. Patrick’s Day lunch celebrations
Jennifer Rosa adds, “Associates have fun while still getting the work done each day. That balance of accountability and enjoyment is what keeps our service top-notch.”
Recognizing Decades of Dedication
Culture also shows up in how long people choose to stay. Right now, eight of our associates have over 20 years with Gallagher — about 10 percent of our team.
- John Gallagher – 43 years
- David Walker – 28 years
- Brian Payne – 25 years
- Mark Eldridge – 23 years
- Chris Gallagher – 22 years
- Annette Palmer – 22 years
- Jim Petersen – 22 years
- Kevin Gallagher – 21 years
These milestones are more than numbers. They represent loyalty, growth, and decades of teamwork. Their dedication proves that when people feel valued and supported, they choose to build their careers here.
Why Culture Matters
A positive culture is essential. It keeps associates engaged, fosters long-term careers, and ensures the level of service Gallagher has been known for since 1893. When people are invested in, they bring that investment back to customers and to the community.
It’s why company culture has always been, and always will be, the foundation of our success.
Be Part of a Team Where Culture Comes First
