Gallagher Gives Thanks

With the air getting colder and the holidays right around the corner, we at Gallagher have been reflecting on all we have to be grateful for. As a fifth-generation family-owned company, we know our success over the past 130 years is thanks to the support of our loyal customers, dedicated associates, and the wonderful Battle Creek community we call home.

This holiday season, we want to take a moment to say thank you. Our hearts are truly full of gratitude for the people and community that allow Gallagher Uniform to continue serving with excellence year after year.

Grateful for Our Customers

First and foremost, we want to thank our loyal customers across Michigan and Indiana. We feel privileged to have partnered with industry leaders for decades, including distribution centers, coffee producers, casinos, auto shops, manufacturers, and many more. Our partnerships with companies big and small allow us to serve with care and invest in our people and community.

In 2023, our production teams worked incredibly hard to serve customers, averaging 195,000 pounds of laundry per week. Our plant hung 61,000 pieces through the tunnel and rolled 5,600 mats weekly. We folded and bagged 81,000 uniforms each week to be delivered on time, every time. Our staff also handled many visitors for tours of our state-of-the-art facility.

Behind the scenes, our stockroom team impressed by averaging 5,800 units fulfilled per week – a Gallager record. The embroidery team also averaged 1,150 embroideries per week, another record. We also launched our new One Label Garment ID System to enhance quality control. We are so grateful to all our customers for trusting us to serve your needs with excellence and care.

Celebrating Our Hardworking Associates

Of course, we couldn’t serve our customers without our incredibly dedicated associates across all departments. From our service team, route drivers, sales team, office staff, plant employees, and temporary workers – every single associate goes above and beyond for our customers daily. Their hard work, passion, and commitment to excellence have allowed Gallagher to serve with pride and care for over a century.

While every employee plays an integral role in our operations, each year we like to honor standout associates who go above and beyond. This year, we were thrilled to award Mike Kemper the 2023 ACE award for his passion, dedication, and embodiment of Gallagher values.

Mike started with us in January 2015 as a mat roller before quickly taking on roles across departments, including check-in and the wash aisle, becoming our “Jack of all trades.” Always striving to develop, Mike was recently promoted to Facilities Maintenance. Additionally, Gallagher is paying for Mike to attend KCC Tech Center next semester to further his education. In Mike’s 8 years at Gallagher, he has embodied our family-oriented culture through close-knit relationships and a deep commitment to the company. Congrats, Mike on this well-deserved ACE award – you continue to make us proud every day!

Supporting Our Community

Finally, we are deeply thankful for the Battle Creek community we’ve called home for over 80 years. From the very beginning, Battle Creek has supported our growth, and we strive to give back through involvement with organizations like United Way, the Chamber of Commerce, Goodwill Industries, the Food Bank of South Central Michigan, Battle Creek Unlimited, and many others. Our community makes us proud, and we will continue to support its prosperity.
