Gallagher Uniform & Consumers Energy: Demand Response Program
Energy and power are a necessity to keep our lights on and our machines running. We rely on Michiganās energy sources to provide you and your employees with your uniforms. Energy travels through a distribution gridāincluding power linesāto make its way to homes and businesses. Sometimes, though, that energy has to work overtime to redistribute some of that energy toward places that need it. When this demand for energy increases, particularly in the summertime, thereās a lot of pressure on the grid to do that reallocating.
At Gallagher, where being as āgreenā as possible is a priority, we are always looking for ways to contribute to the conservation of energy and other sustainable initiatives. Thatās why weāve recently enrolled in the Demand Response Program with Consumers Energy. What does that mean for us? It means weāre formally participating in reducing the energy usage at our plant, all while lowering the demand on the energy grid. With sustainability at the forefront of our work, this partnership is an easy one for Gallagher!
Energy can seem unfathomable; this big, intense thing. So it makes sense that we may not always know how to play our part in conserving it. But energy is all about that supply and demand, and thatās where Consumers Energyās Demand Response Program comes in. All participants enrolled in this program agree to do what they can to help reduce demand and meet supply.
This programās biggest goal is to eliminate coal use and help create a 90 percent reduction in carbon emissions by 2040. A huge feat, certainly, but weāre excited to have a role to play. Whatās better? Our processes and systems are already environmentallyĀ conscious, and weāre able to ensure efficient production processes, still getting you your uniforms as clean as possible and in a timely manner. Being able to help in stabilizing the energy grid without impacting our customers is something we pride ourselves onālet us show you how our uniform program can work for you!
