Top 5 Reasons to Work at Gallagher Uniform
If you know Gallagher, you know our dedication to our customers and our employees. We work day in and day out to foster strong relationships, both internally and externally, and to carry on the tradition of being a business folks want to work with and work for. Here are some of the top reasons to join our family-oriented team and work at Gallagher Uniform!
First and foremost, it’s safe
Especially as we continue to move through the COVID-19 pandemic, we know that health and safety are important to our employees. No one wants to feel like they’re taking a serious risk simply by coming into work every day. But our facility is large and spacious, and we’ve done out part in making sure our employees stay socially distanced, have access to sanitizers, and frequently wash their hands. Our COVID-19 policies are extensive for both our customers and our employees. Read them here.
We’re competitive
We function as one big family unit, yes, but we also want our employees to feel valued and appreciated. We’ve made several of our production positions more competitive to help ensure that we get incredibly talented people into our facility! Whether you find yourself in check in, tunnel, press, induction, repairs, banding, folding, mats, or route packing positions, you can enjoy a competitive position with great pay and incentives.
We prioritize culture
At Gallagher, we employ a cultural accelerator that helps us imagine our ideal culture and then build it accordingly. A Human Resource Management consultant visits Gallagher once a month to evaluate the current culture climate and assess where we can improve. As a result of this process, our leadership team has put together several projects, including creating and distributing weekly communication updates, posting Route Service Rep routes on video screens, and creating end-of-day production summaries. We’re also currently working on a “Kudos” program and peer-to-peer recognition on shamrocks in the cafeteria, morning team meetings, and adding a “Culture Corner” to our weekly newsletters. Culture is important to us, and we put a lot of time and energy toward making sure we’re fostering a strong and healthy environment.
We also work with Humanenergy—a diverse team of facilitators who work to unlock potential. Our leadership staff attends training sessions once a month that cover topics from conflict resolution to working with different personalities. The trainings have had a huge impact on our culture and helping our leadership tea work through situations more effectively.
We like to give back
Battle Creek is home to Gallagher Uniform, and we pride ourselves in being as present as possible in our local community. We participate in Cereal City Corporate Cup each year, give to the United Way of Battle Creek and Kalamazoo region, work with Goodwill Industries of Central Michigan’s Heartland, sponsor the Barn Theatre, and engage with Big Brothers Big Sisters, just to name a few. We’ve got a lot of love for Battle Creek and we’re dedicated to helping it succeed by supporting and contributing to wonderful organizations.
Keep it green
We love our environment, too. At Gallagher, we take any and all steps to make sure we’re helping create a sustainable uniform effort and building a healthy environment. As a fifth generation family business, we know the importance of environmental stewardship and making sure our immediate communities are safe for years to come. We participate in the Consumers Energy Demand Response Program, reduce natural gas consumption, prioritize paperless invoicing, reuse hangers, reclaim water, and donate discarded uniform garments. Green is in our logo, and also in our “jeans.”
