Meet Brian Payne, Route Service Representative & Tigers Fan
Tell us what you do at Gallagher?
I’m a Route Service Representative. I like to say we’re more reliable than any mail service – because we do deliver through rain, snow, sleet and hail.
What is your favorite part of your day?
Since I spend a lot of time on the road picking up and delivering to customers, I am always thankful for a day that ends safely for me and all my fellow drivers out there. I really enjoy talking with customers and helping them out whenever needed.
What do you do when not at work?
I enjoy spending time with my family. I’m also a big sports fan and enjoy watching baseball whenever I can. And to make the most of Michigan winters, I do a lot of downhill skiing. I also work as a part-time bartender.
Gallagher is a locally owned, family business. How important is it for you to feel that you are working for an employer that has stayed in the Battle Creek community for so long?
The idea of working for a strong, family owned business is a cool thing in the day of buyouts of the little guy. It means you don’t have to get through a bunch of red tape to get answers from some figure head somewhere. Just find a Gallagher, and they’re always willing to answer your questions provide support when you need it. And from generation to generation, they have a great reputation and are well respected in our community because of how they approach their customers and associates.
Any career highlights to share?
Gallagher Uniform embraces and uses a lot of technology. I was Stock Room Team Leader at a time of a new computer software deployment and am proud of myself and the rest of the team for working together getting the glitches ironed out to make sure we had it running smoothly. And of course I appreciate all the relationships that we’ve had with people (our customers and their employees, as well as Gallagher Associates) throughout the years. These relationships have kept us close to customers as we see them rise and fall with the economy, then grow again.
Go Blue or Go Green?
Go Green… But orange is my favorite color by far – I’m a HUGE Detroit Tigers fan.
I enjoyed finding out that Brian does a lot of downhill skiing! A little bit of information that helped me to get to know Brian better.
Wonderful man and very family one at that ,.one of the best dad’s
Great Route Guy! I always enjoy his Cheery attitude when he comes to service our account. He goes out of his way to make sure we are taken care of. He is the kind of guy most companies wish to get their hands on! Thanks, Keep up the good work Brian!
