What is TRSA, and what does their certification mean? Glad you asked!

TRSA, or the Textile Rental Service Association, is an advocacy and accreditation service that supports the linen, uniform, and facility services industry by building and promoting a stronger, safer and more environmentally conscious community. They also participate in benchmarking and information sharing, granting information on best practices to all its associates, like Gallagher Uniform.

What does this certification mean?

Being Clean Green certified by TRSA means that we uphold the highest standards in environmentally friendly practices in the laundering (uniform) industry. There are many irresponsible launderers and uniform rental services cutting corners when it comes to sustainability, but not Gallagher Uniform. This certification guarantees our credibility and shows our commitment to operating in the greenest way possible.

How is this certification achieved?

Gallagher Uniform underwent the certification process by tracking and proving our commitment to BMP’s (best management practices) in energy reuse and reduction as well as efficient water usage. More specifically, the TRSA measures BMP’s for:

• Recovering heat from drained hot water and heat dispersed from the process of warming water
• Recapturing drained water from rinses for reuse
• Using environmentally friendly detergents
• Removing solids and liquids from wastewater
• Installing solar energy and energy-efficient lighting
• Recycling programs
• Re-routing trucks to save vehicle fuel
• Implementing preventative maintenance and spill prevention plans

After submitting the application, our facility underwent inspection to ensure that all standards were met or exceeded.

Did Gallagher make any changes in order to achieve the Clean Green certification?

Nope. We’re just that cool, man. Gallagher Uniform’s laundering practices have been committed to sustainability for many years. This certification recognizes this commitment.
